There are two large ‘Blue Flags’ beaches (Aristonafton in the west and Pefkia in the east) which are organized with sun-beds and umbrellas. There are also a lot of other options of beautiful beaches among the surrounding hills.
At the eastern end of the city of Xylokastro the beautiful “aesthetic forest” of Pefkia lies next to the sea which is dated back to more than 300 years ago and it is about 2,000 long.
It is an ideal place for the lovers of hiking and jogging who have the opportunity to enjoy the smells of every sort of flowers and plants and at the same time they can encounter beautiful fountains, benches to relax and – cafés / restaurants along the wonderful route of the main path.
At the eastern end of the city there is a public Marina for small boats. It has a quite narrow entrance and consists of two parts, the most suitable of which for mooring is the external part of it. It offers a good dock and protection and direct access to water, fuel and food.
In this Marina there is a Sailing Club where sailing lessons for children are held at the weekend.
Also in the interior of the Marina there is the open theater “Vasilis Georgiadis” which is home to theatrical and musical performances with a great view of the sea .
