Nested on the slopes of Zeria at an altitude of 1100 m, Trikala consists of three districts Kato Trikala, Mesea Trikala and Ano Trikala which constitute the most ancient settlement of Kyllini(Zeria). The environment, the cool springs, the fir trees, the perennial plane trees and the running waters combined with the traditional architecture of the stone and wooden buildings and the hospitality of the residents capture the visitor.
Shortly after Ano Trikala you can visit the Monastery of “Agios Vlassios” which was built in the 15th century, where according to the tradition the miraculous icon of St.Vlassios was found. The courtyard of the Monastery is full of flowers and trees, while the view of the Sytha river valley and the opposite villages, Manna, Stylia and Panariti, is truly magnificent.

The Vouraikos gorge is also friendly for hikers. The railway line is also a path and every year hikers from all over Greece and Europe hike on this unique route, enjoying the nature and the river.

Although it is a small gorge, it is special and unique.
